QOS Fiber (Quad Optical Services) is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Cable Plow Operator to join our growing underground utility construction team. Position Summary
The Cable Plow Operator is responsible for safely operating vibratory cable plows and other heavy equipment to install underground fiber optic conduit, microduct, and telecommunications infrastructure. This position works closely with foremen, utility locators, and construction crews to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to customer specifications while protecting existing underground utilities and maintaining production goals.
Qualifications
Applicants must have 1–2 years of experience operating cable plows, trenchers, excavators, skid steers, directional drilling equipment, or similar heavy construction equipment. Experience in fiber optic construction, underground utilities, excavation, telecommunications, pipeline construction, or agricultural equipment operation is highly preferred. A valid driver's license is required. A CDL is preferred but not required, and QOS Fiber provides CDL training assistance for qualified employees.
Successful candidates are dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to work outdoors in changing weather conditions while maintaining high production and quality standards.
