Job description

The Commercial Security Technician performs service and installations of commercial security including access control, video surveillance, security, and networking.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Service and Install commercial security systems, including existing system upgrades and additions, while demonstrating complete understanding of the use and function of all required personal protective equipment.
  • Install cabinets, cameras, and radios as required.
  • Install conduit and underground cabling to support system installations.
  • Installations require knowledge and ability to understand and explain:
  • Testing system components.
  • Attend classroom and field training as required.
  • Work on an on-call schedule rotation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree in Internet Technologies is preferred
  • Must have minimum of 3 years’ experience installing, testing and troubleshooting cable, phone and internet
  • Must have Fiber Optic Cabling experience and basic understanding of computer networks and knowledge of Cat5 and Cat6, Fiber, and Copper
  • Must have active and clean, non-restrictive, state issued driver’s license in State where hired.
  • Must be comfortable working on a ladder and all heights
  • Ability to work days, weekends, evenings and holidays and participate with on-call rotation as needed
