Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
REV has positions available for Structured Cable Installers within REV's Structured Wiring department. This is a valuable opportunity for candidates with technical abilities and a customer service-oriented attitude to grow their career with a great company. The essential function is installing REV's fiber network inside Business Properties. (Television, internet, phone service).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: (include but not limited to)
LEVEL I and LEAD (All duties applicable to each level unless indicated otherwise):
  • Receives task assignments from ABS Manager and Business Operations Support Specialist
  • Installs telecommunication and related equipment, according to service/job order specifications, standards, and procedures
  • Fluidly operate electronic devices such as PCs, laptops, tablets, and smartphones
  • Maintains and reports accurate records of hours and materials used
  • Processes detailed paperwork and/or electronic records
  • Reports and monitors service/job order changes
  • Install Fiber, CAT5 and Coax cable as needed
  • String Aerial Drop as needed
  • Experience installing Low Voltage CAT 5, CAT 6, Coax and fiber connections
  • Terminates various low wiring including Fiber, RG-59, RG-11, Cat-3, Cat-5, Cat-6, and speaker wire
  • Install ONTs
  • Use wire trouble shooting tools such as tracer/toner and continuity testers, DSAM meters, volt meters, PON meters, OTDR, and WIFI spectrum analyzers
  • Read product material for product knowledge advancement
  • Understanding of frequency response
  • Must be a skilled driver with the ability to drive a vehicle with a manual shift
  • Task may vary depending on the need of the company
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and vehicle
  • Be on time and maintain a punctual schedule, as required
  • Performs any other duties as assigned or as needed

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (All levels)
  • Ability to make patch panel terminations, conduct cable testing, make network jack connections, install data racks, terminate fiber optic cabling, and make fiber connections
  • Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems and associated equipment

LEAD - ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS & KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (in addition to Level I Duties):
  • 2+ years of experience installing Low Voltage CAT 5, CAT 6, Coax and fiber connections
  • Follow blueprints, building diagrams, floor plans, and electrical layouts
  • Perform site surveys and review building/floor plans to define scopes of work, material requirements, and installation processes
  • Assist Engineers and Field Service Technicians with installation of our services
  • Assist Engineers and Field Service Technicians troubleshoot video, voice, and data services
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper phone and email communication
  • Travel to each project assigned to; may include out of state travel
  • Work with staff to diagnose and resolve service issues
  • Communicate job completion to supervisor
  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Knowledge of all services offered by REV, regulatory industry standards and procedures, and new technology
  • Understands basic electronics, specification sheets and circuit diagrams

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established by the company on the evaluation of management personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES (All levels)
Required (ALL LEVELS):
  • Must possess a valid driver's license; must be a skilled driver with the ability to drive a vehicle with a manual shift
  • Must be able to travel out of state for a week at a time (housing and travel will be covered by REV and meals are reimbursed)

Required (LEAD) - In addition to the above
  • 2+ years of experience installing Low voltage CAT 5, CAT 6, Coax and fiber connections

Preferred (All Levels):
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
