Summary:
As the Sr. Quality Inspector, you'll be responsible for the bench and floor inspections of customer aircraft parts, products and materials being produced in house or received from vendors. You'll conduct first article and conformity inspections, while using a variety of precision measuring instruments, including electronic devices and CMM. You will inspect parts and products through the entire production process, checking color, finish, dimensions, hardness, density, and other measurable and observable characteristics.   • Review shipping objective daily to establish inspection priorities.
  • Reviewing aging MO list in ERP to establish additional daily priorities.
  • Details inspection of components, subassemblies, and final product and paperwork associated with each of the inspected items.
  • Inspect incoming shipments of hardware, components, raw materials and subassemblies per lot sampling table or ERP listed requirement.
  • Proficiently use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, CMM, height gauge, pins, torque wrenches, counter sink gauges, and other required instruments.
  • Review and approve supplier first article inspection reports.
  • Prepare accurate and complete Engineering Change Requests.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI/FAIR) and documentation per AS9102 and company procedures.
  • Read and interpret all engineering drawings per the Engineering specification to ensure the part was produced to the right revision.
  • Issue first pass yield findings when a part can be reworked and write MRB documents.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience minimum in a quality assurance / inspection position is required.
  • Quality Accreditation or commensurate experience preferred.
  • Experience within the aerospace/aviation or related products is preferred.
  • Experience with ISO or AS9100 processes and procedures is required, Part 21 preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other related literature is necessary.
  • Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) skills.
  • Familiar with Windows Operating Systemยฎ, MS Office including (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
  • Ability to be onsite Monday - Friday, at the Thornton, CO facility is required. With the ability for 9-10 hours work days sometimes required.
