Join us as our MQ Administrator / CICS Systems Programmer!
Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting MQ Administrator / CICS Systems Programmer to join our Enterprise System Support CICS/MQ group.
The Enterprise System Support CICS/MQ group is responsible for administering and supporting MQSeries across all platforms (MQ Appliance, RHEL, MS Windows, and mainframe z/OS) and CICS M-R-O infrastructures in both the production and test environments. The group also supports a suite of Compuware and Omegamon products along with WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and IBM Integration Bus (IIB) on z/OS.
The Candidate must have a thorough working knowledge of MQSeries and CICS to be a core member of the group responsible for administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrades, performance and tuning, problem resolution, application group and Client requests and off-hour on-call technical support (rotation).
Some of your additional responsibilities include:
  • Perform all functions related to supporting MQSeries and CICS including: administration, configuration, installation, maintenance, upgrades, performance and tuning, problem resolution.
  • Monitor the systems for issues and take the required steps to address and resolve.
  • Work with vendors to resolve issues with supported products.
  • Apply maintenance and upgrades to supported products on a regular basis.
  • Provide support to the application programming groups including handling inquiry and new resource requests, coding design questions, assisting in resolving issues and abends.
  • Setup and maintain external MQSeries connections.

Qualifications:
  • Candidate should have 5+ years experience supporting MQSeries and CICS on z/OS.
  • Experience with MQSeries and MQClients on MQ Appliance, distributed and mainframe z/OS platforms.
  • Experience with MQSeries monitoring and reporting tools.
  • Experience with scripting and scripting languages to automate tasks, set up reporting, monitoring and alerting.
  • Experience using trace, dumps and monitoring software for problem investigation and resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to multitask and switch to higher priority tasks when required.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to accept new challenges as an opportunity to learn and increase skill set.
  • High level of motivation, initiative and attention to detail when performing tasks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using SMP/E for product installs and applying maintenance a plus.
  • Experience coding programs in Assembler and COBOL (a plus).
  • Experience with Websphere for z/OS using Installation Manager a plus.
  • Experience with Compuware (AbendAid, FileAid) and Omegamon/Tivoli products a plus.

Salary Range
NJ: $135,000 - $175,000 base salary + annual target bonus

The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
