KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Café Supervisor creates a welcoming environment for Grace Café customers by providing fast and friendly service, strong customer service, quality products and a clean, safe environment. The Café Supervisor is responsible for the following:
- Serve the Lord Jesus Christ in the Hospitality department by providing welcoming hospitality on behalf of Grace Church.
- Opens and closes the café according to café procedures.
- Oversees the café employees on Sundays, weekdays, and events to ensure there is an efficient operation.
- Greets and interacts with the customers in a friendly and timely manner.
- Performs various duties to fill customer orders, such as brewing coffee, making barista beverages, teas, and a variety of cold beverages using coffee equipment and other cafe equipment.
- Serves high-quality food and beverage items, including hot and cold drinks, soup, salads, bakery products, and sandwiches.
- Creates schedule for café staff and volunteers.
- Works with the Café Manager to recruit, train, and manage café staff and volunteers.
- Keeps all equipment, counters, utensils, etc., clean to maintain a food-safe work area.
- Maintains a clean customer area.
- Operates the point-of-sale system by opening and closing the cash drawer, receiving payments, counting money, processing the deposit, and completing the sales report.
- Maintains a well-organized inventory system and completes a periodic count of all items in the café as required.
- Places periodic orders for café products as required.
- Update the menu boards and POS system as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS
- Experience: 1+ years in Café management preferred.
- License: ServSafe Manager Certified preferred.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as determined by the events schedule.
- Working knowledge of food service and customer service.
- Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
- Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20).
- Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.
- Consistent attendance and participation in Grace Church and involvement in the life of the church.
