This Director, Executive Briefing & Engagement, will prepare, plan and present tours at our state-of-the-art Innovation Center located in Washington, DC, and its virtual equivalent. They will collaborate with internal leaders and stakeholders to support UnitedHealth Group's growth priorities, engaging client executives, brokers, customers, and external stakeholders through thoughtful, dialogue-driven experiences.

This role requires a deep understanding of the evolving health care landscape, including our industry, enterprise capabilities, and broader market dynamics to ensure our story is relevant and tailored to a range of external audiences.

Daily responsibilities include planning tours with relevant content, collaborating with various teams and leaders, and serving as the primary presenter of customized UnitedHealth Group stories, personalized to our guests. This role also requires proactively researching topics, developing a solid understanding of content, and preparing thoroughly to deliver impactful, tailored presentations. Success in this position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where you are constantly thinking and speaking on your feet to drive great conversations.

This is a hybrid role where you are required to be in person at least 4 days a week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead tour/presentations of the UnitedHealth Group content library within the D.C. Innovation Center, including its virtual equivalent, tailoring delivery for a range of audiences including senior executives, brokers, clients, prospective customers, and investors. To do so you will:
    • Collaborate with hosts in building agendas for upcoming visits and develop a cohesive story tailored to the goals and objectives of the guest to the Innovation Center
    • Prepare for presenting by researching guests' needs, staying current on relevant health care topics, enterprise capabilities, attending prep meetings with core teams, and leading visit rehearsals
    • Consult with Subject Matter Experts and Content Strategists to inform the strategic intent of all content through the lens of the audience aligning enterprise messaging and external landscape
  • Co-lead enterprise presenter program to support a solid bench of volunteer presenters and to coach leaders across the enterprise on effectively telling the UnitedHealth Group story
  • Consistently strive to enhance and evolve the overall presentation experience to engage and resonate with diverse audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in marketing, communications, presenting, journalism, sales, public affairs, or related field,
  • Experience presenting and communicating to C-suite and external business audiences (client, broker, investor, or public-sector experience preferred) in person and in virtual environments
  • Ability to engage and adapt messaging for diverse audiences, including executive stakeholders, with solid situational awareness and the ability to adjust in the moment
  • Experience navigating large-scale, complex organizations
  • Demonstrated passion for staying current with industry trends and applying insights to enhance content and delivery
  • Demonstrated experience influencing and collaborating with others
  • Ability to travel to other offices when needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare industry experience

  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
