Job Summary:
As AM Buzz Line Cook, you play a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming environment for customers while preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages. Your responsibilities include taking customer orders, operating equipment, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring a great customer experience. A friendly attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this role.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve a variety of espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages to standard.
  • Make sandwiches, wraps, and salads with fresh ingredients. • Provide excellent customer service with a positive, helpful attitude.
  • Provide information on menu items, make recommendations, and handle special requests.
  • Address customer questions, concerns, or complaints professionally.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, food prep areas, and equipment.
  • Handle payments and operate the point-of-sale system.
  • Handle change and receipts accurately.
  • Restock inventory and assist with receiving deliveries.
  • Wash dishes, clean equipment, and restock supplies regularly.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and food handling procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth operation.
  • Assist coworkers during busy times and help train new employees if needed.
  • set up and prep the station at the beginning of the day (opening shifts).
  • Clean and shut down equipment and secure the store at closing time.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • The ideal candidate for this position must be extremely friendly, outgoing, and organized.
  • Positive attitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility when working alternating shifts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent observational skills and situational awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills including dealing with difficult and rude patrons.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation, food, and service.
  • Ability to learn cash register software.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior cafe experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and wipe.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for entire shift.
  • Must be able to lift to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to traverse all parts of the restaurant quickly.
