Job description

Job Overview
Join AAO's Buying team as an Assistant Buyer, supporting the Buyer in all aspects of merchandise procurement. Key responsibilities include analyzing market trends to identify high-potential new brands, sourcing and negotiating with vendors for optimal terms, coordinating store-level product distribution and merchandising, managing vendor relationships and contracts, and traveling to stores with the Buyer. This role targets bilingual (English/Korean) candidates with 1-2 years of retail buying experience, Excel proficiency, and passion for urban fashion and streetwear, who are legally authorized to work in the US.
Duties
Assist the Buyer in analyzing market trends to identify and develop new brands that drive maximum sales.
Support Buyer in sourcing and contacting appropriate vendors for merchandise; negotiate terms to secure optimal deals.
Help coordinate proper store-level distribution of all products and merchandising concepts under Buyer's direction.
Assist Buyer with vendor relationship management and contract administration.
Travel regularly to stores with Buyer to connect with teams.
Skills
Bilingual fluency in English and Korean
Strong negotiation skills to support Buyer in securing favorable vendor agreements
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently or collaboratively under Buyer's guidance
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
1-2 years retail buying/merchandising experience preferred
