Buyer/Purchasing

 

My client seeks an experienced Buyer responsible for procurement for the company's manufacturing operations.  The Buyer will work closely with various departments (engineering, manufacturing, finance, and logistics) to meet the company's purchasing needs while ensuring high standards of quality and compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The Buyer will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the company's supply chain operations. This position requires a deep understanding of market trends, supplier relationships, and negotiation strategies to ensure the best value for the organization. Strong decision-making skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically are essential for success in this role.

Job Description

  • Issue purchase orders & track the progress of deliveries, resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms & service agreements.
  • Maintain and review purchasing reports.
  • Process return to vendor debit memos.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure we fulfill customer orders.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of supply chain principles & market trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's) & MRP/ERP software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • 3+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, within a manufacturing or a similar industry.  
  • Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
