RSi is looking to fill a Buyer position to support our NASAcustomer on the Marshall Engineering Technicians and Trades Support contract (METTS). This position will acquire material and services required to support contract operation using purchase orders, agreements, and procurement card processes. They will also manage acquisition processes to ensure compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.

This position may require occasional overtime and may include second or third shift support for 24/7 onsite or on-call support based on customer needs and contract requirements.

Summary of duties include but are not limited to:

Establish, evaluate, and maintain a supplier network, including performing market research, investigating potential suppliers, and monitoring supplier performance

Collect, review, and enter required data into purchasing systems to support procurement activities

Maintain sufficient technical knowledge and ensure proper control, use, and protection of all data, drawings, specifications, and proprietary information

Develop and issue RFQs and RFPs based on approved purchase requisitions

Evaluate supplier offers and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and contract terms to ensure compliance with requirements and regulations

Prepare, award, and document purchase orders, including relevant FAR flow-down provisions and required file content

Administer assigned purchase contracts from initiation through closeout, including invoice validation when needed

Support audits and oversight activities

Lead projects or teams as assigned

Core competencies include: Microsoft office suite, organization skills, interpersonal skills, and communication

Required Minimum Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a related field from an accredited institution is required
  • 8 years of direct experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of products is required
  • Ability to learn and utilize other financial and procurement software and processes is required
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrate ability to follow established processes and procedures with minimal management oversight
  • Excellent organization, analytical, and communication skills

Preferred Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/IT Skills/Certifications:

  • Experience using visual, Unanet, and safeguarding company banking information.
  • Office setting

Physical Environment/Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

Ability to lift up to ten pounds on an occasional basis

May require walking, climbing stairs, and navigating work areas to gain access to office

All positions supporting the METTS III contract are contingent upon successful completion of NASA medical screenings at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter. The need for these screenings is determined based on the outcomes of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Job Assessment Questionnaire.

Must meet eligibility for a Public Trust background investigation for government issues credentials and IT access/applicants must be able to pass a security background check per Redstone Arsenal/MSFC requirements. You will be required to provide two (2) forms of Federal I9 documents. You will be required to provide a REAL ID compliant identification to gain access to RSA and MSFC. Your name must match on both forms of ID, be original (no copies/digital), and be unexpired.
