Job Description

The IT Manager is responsible for the leadership, security, governance, and daily operation of the company's information technology environment. This position leads the internal IT function while coordinating closely with managed service providers, cybersecurity partners, software vendors, and company leadership.

The IT Manager is responsible for maintaining a secure, reliable, and compliant technology environment supporting corporate operations and U.S. Government contracting requirements. The role has significant responsibility for cybersecurity and compliance, including maintaining the organization's CMMC Level 2 certification and alignment with NIST SP 800-171 requirements.

This position requires both strategic leadership and hands-on technical knowledge. The successful candidate must be comfortable managing IT personnel, vendors, cybersecurity programs, cloud services, budgets, projects, policies, audits, and day-to-day operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

CMMC Level 2 & Security Compliance Management

* Maintain, enforce, and audit the 110 cybersecurity controls required by CMMC Level 2 / NIST SP 800-171.

* Manage our System Security Plan (SSP) and continuously update the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).

* Lead the organization through self-assessments and independent Certified Third-Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO) validation audits.

* Ensure all compliance documentation, assessment artifacts, and annual affirmations are properly recorded in the Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS).

* Manage incident response planning, disaster recovery configurations, and employee security training tailored to CMMC standards.

Microsoft Cloud Systems Administration

* Oversee and optimize our cloud environment, including Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government.

* Manage cloud identity, access control, and endpoint security using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Microsoft Intune.

* Ensure proper implementation of strict data retention, conditional access, and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across all Microsoft services.

* Monitor cloud performance, system alerts, and security logs to protect against potential vulnerabilities.

IT Operations & Leadership

* Provide hands-on management and leadership for all internal IT support functions, desktop management, and licensing.

* Manage vendor relationships, software procurement, and budget lifecycle for cloud subscriptions.

* Act as the internal authority for all hardware assets and ensure all remote endpoints strictly follow compliance baselines

Job Requirements


Education & Experience

* Education: A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a highly related technical field is strictly required.

* Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience working within Information Technology roles.

* Leadership: Proven background in an IT management, supervisor, or leadership capacity.

Technical Requirements

* CMMC Mastery: Direct experience implementing and maintaining NIST SP 800-171 / CMMC Level 2 controls within a defense contractor framework.

* Cloud Architecture: Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud infrastructure.

* Zero On-Premises Philosophy: Comprehensive experience managing modern, cloud-only systems with no physical server dependencies (no on-prem active directory, local storage, or physical datacenters).

Additional Requirements

* Strong technical communication skills to bridge complex compliance parameters with daily business operations.

* U.S. Citizenship is REQUIRED due to the necessity of handling ITAR and CUI data within Azure Government / GCC High environments.

Preferred Certifications:

* Certified CMMC Professional (CCP) or Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA)

* Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert / Enterprise Administrator Expert

* CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
