Job description

Title: Information Systems Lead

Location: Nashua, NH

The Information Systems Lead will own the business data foundation, integrations, analytics architecture, and governance capabilities required to support scalable digital transformation and AI enablement across CBS. This role will lead the development of trusted data sources, lakehouse and semantic data models, enterprise reporting standards, source-system integration priorities, and data governance practices across engineering, operations, finance, planning, quality, and product management.

The role will partner closely with corporate IT, functional leaders, implementation partners, and the AI Solutions & Automation team to ensure analytics, automation, and AI use cases are built on reliable, secure, and scalable data infrastructure. This role is focused on the data foundation and integration build layer; AI solution design, agents, and workflow automation will be owned by the AI Solutions & Automation team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to define information systems, data foundation, reporting, and integration strategies aligned with organizational goals and the Digital Transformation & AI Enablement roadmap.
  • Lead the design and development of the CBS data foundation, including source-system onboarding, data modeling, pipeline requirements, semantic layer design, and governed data products that support analytics, automation, and AI readiness.
  • Partner with corporate IT, data engineers, and implementation partners to design and maintain scalable lakehouse architecture, including bronze/silver/gold data structures, curated datasets, and reusable data products.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise reporting and analytics solutions using Power BI, Microsoft Fabric/Azure technologies, and integrated business systems.
  • Develop and maintain scalable semantic data models, standardized KPIs, dashboards, and self-service reporting environments that support data-driven decision-making across functions and sites.
  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, operations, and functional data owners to integrate priority business systems including ERP, MES, PLM, QMS, SI/test data, SharePoint/file repositories, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, and other enterprise platforms.
  • Support secure on-prem-to-cloud data integration patterns, including database/API connectivity, file-based ingestion, scheduled refreshes, access control, monitoring, and exception handling.
  • Define and implement data quality standards, source-of-truth rules, data ownership expectations, and issue-resolution processes in partnership with functional data owners.
  • Drive enterprise data governance initiatives including security, system usage monitoring, data lineage, data quality, performance optimization, and user access management.
  • Support workflow automation initiatives by ensuring required data sources, integrations, access controls, and reporting/analytics layers are available, reliable, and supportable.
  • Partner with the AI Solutions & Automation Lead to assess data readiness for AI use cases and ensure AI solutions are built on trusted, governed, and reusable data assets.
  • Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for information systems architecture, reporting platforms, business applications, enterprise data models, and analytics standards.
  • Manage or support external implementation partners for data platform, integration, reporting, and data governance workstreams, ensuring deliverables are scalable, documented, supportable, and aligned with CBS architecture.
  • Partner with IT and Finance to monitor platform utilization, data refresh performance, capacity consumption, and cost drivers across analytics and data platform workloads.
  • Establish support and sustainment expectations for production data pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, and integrations, including documentation, monitoring, ownership, and escalation paths.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to business users and power users to drive system adoption, reporting standards, data literacy, and best practices globally.
  • Identify technology gaps, recommend scalable solutions, and partner with IT and functional leaders to execute remediation and enhancement plans.
  • Lead or support cross-functional projects related to digital transformation, operational efficiency, data foundation, and enterprise systems modernization.
  • Travel as required to support global operations and business initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support the growth and success of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 7-10+ years of experience supporting enterprise information systems, data platforms, business intelligence, analytics, or digital transformation initiatives within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience with modern cloud data platforms and lakehouse architecture, such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, semantic modeling, and enterprise data integration across ERP, MES, PLM, QMS, SI/test data, Microsoft 365, and other business platforms.
  • Advanced experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling, security configuration, performance optimization, and governed self-service analytics.
  • Experience integrating on-prem enterprise systems with cloud data platforms, including secure data extraction, API/database connectivity, file-based ingestion, and scheduled refresh patterns.
  • Familiarity with medallion data architecture, curated data products, data pipelines, orchestration, and source-system onboarding preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, master data, reporting standards, data stewardship, source-of-truth management, and data quality management.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and partnering with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business insights, requirements, and scalable data solutions.
  • Experience managing or working with external implementation partners, systems integrators, or IT/data platform vendors preferred.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation, SharePoint, Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, or related Microsoft technologies preferred.
  • Awareness of AI data readiness requirements, including governed datasets, secure access, data quality, lineage, and reusable data assets.
  • Familiarity with engineering and manufacturing operations, metrics, and business processes strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, project management, organizational, and change-management skills.
  • Experience supporting global organizations, distributed teams, and multi-site manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Travel required as needed to support global sites.
