Business Systems Lead

Summary:

The Business Systems Lead is a highly versatile, cross-functional role responsible for supporting, optimizing, and advancing the company’s enterprise systems — with a primary focus on Epicor ERP.

This individual must understand the full business flow from Quote-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay, including sales, customer service, production, purchasing, supply chain, quality, and finance. The ideal candidate combines strong functional ERP knowledge with data analysis capabilities, enabling them to mine data, develop meaningful KPIs, and translate insights into actionable business improvements.

This role requires strong communication skills, business acumen, and the ability to bridge operations, finance, and IT.


Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise System Ownership Support

  • Serve as a functional lead for Epicor ERP (E10 / Kinetic), supporting daily operations across all departments.

  • Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with IT staff or external vendors as needed.

  • Ensure system stability, data integrity, and optimal performance.

  • Support system upgrades, enhancements, testing, and deployment activities.


End-User Enablement Process Support

  • Provide hands-on support and training to end-users across departments.

  • Develop and maintain user documentation and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist departments in improving system utilization and business process alignment.


Business Process Cross-Functional Integration

  • Understand and support full Quote-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay workflows.

  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Production, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Finance to ensure system alignment with operational needs.

  • Assist in documenting and standardizing business processes across business units.

  • Identify process gaps and recommend system-based improvements.



Data Analysis, Reporting KPI Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports and dashboards within Epicor and related tools.

  • Utilize Excel, SQL, and Power BI to analyze data and deliver actionable insights.

  • Develop and maintain operational and financial KPIs aligned with business objectives.

  • Perform data mining and trend analysis to support leadership decision-making.

  • Ensure reporting accuracy, reliability, and alignment with business requirements.


IT Team Help Desk Support

  • Provide Tier 1 help desk support as needed.

  • All members of the IT department are expected to support help desk activities as issues arise, including responding to user requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring timely resolution.

  • Collaborate with IT team members to ensure balanced workload coverage and continuity of support.

  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution.


   Qualifications:

  • Education: Associates or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a business systems support role or similar position.

  • Hands-on experience with Epicor ERP 10 or Kinetic ERP is required. The ideal candidate will be familiar with system navigation, configuration, and support in an Epicor environment.

  • Skills:

    • Strong understanding of end-to-end business flows (Quote-to-Cash Procure-to-Pay).

    • Functional knowledge of Epicor modules and system configuration.

    • Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas).

    • Experience with SQL and/or Power BI strongly preferred.

    • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

    • Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

    • Knowledge of database management and SQL is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • The position may require occasional after-hours support for system updates or emergency issues.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.

  • May require occasional travel to company locations or conferences.
