Curtze Food Service, one of the nation's largest independent foodservice distribution companies, is currently seeking a Service Technician focusing on the repair and service of commercial kitchen dishwashing and beverage equipment in the Bedford, PA market.

This job pays $18 - $23/hour PLUS bi-annual bonus, commission on parts sold, AND rotating weekend on-call pay. You will have a company service van and start from your home each day.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING! If you have a maintenance/technical background, we will train you on the job. Plumbing and electrical experience very helpful, as well as institutional chemical experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual who enjoys a challenge and wishes to join an independently owned and operated company for 145 years in business

Service Technician Job Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for customer on-site installations, repair, and maintenance of beverage dispensing machines. Chemical responsibilities include the installation, calibration, and maintenance of chemical dispensers. Performs in-service training for all customers in assigned areas. Reports to Chemical Program Director. The Service Technician position will require to be on call on rotating weekends for emergency service calls. A clean MVR is also required

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains beverage machines at customer locations.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains chemical dispensers.
  • Selects the appropriate beverage/chemical machine(s), dispenser(s), and parts according to the invoice and service schedule.
  • Explains proper operation and cleaning procedures, including in-service training when necessary.
  • Performs emergency repair service (after hours, weekends, and holidays) on an on-call rotation basis

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Equipment

  • Express strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Require holding a valid driver's license.

Education and Experience

  • Previous related service repair experience
  • Previous route experience
  • Experience working independently
  • Associated degree with courses in communication, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance helpful.
