Job Description

The Interface Engineer will provide development for applications and interfaces, and work in close collaboration with clinical and corporate stakeholders to provide interface development. This position will support, maintain and develop HL7 Interfaces utilizing the Cloverleaf Interface Engine. The incumbent will evaluate user requirements for interface development and enhancements; design, develop, support and maintain interfaces in a complex and heterogeneous IT environment. Other duties will include, developing and maintaining interface support documentation and providing support to various IT related projects as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
5+ years' experience in programming on enterprise or department servers or systems

Critical Skills:

5 or more years of related experience in software design and development
5 or more years working with Cloverleaf and/or other interface engines.
Knowledge of clinical applications and systems (Practice Management Systems, Lab Information Systems, Radiation Systems, Electronic Heath Record Applications)
Experienced in programming in various languages and databases for client/server and web-based applications and systems
Experienced in creating high quality, well documented interfaces (HL7, EDI or XML)
Ability to function productively on multiple project teams simultaneously
Ability to work independently without any supervision
Experienced working in a high paced environment and ability to work effectively under pressure/stressful conditions to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work well in a team and interact effectively.
Ability to provide level of effort estimates and to perform tasks within the estimated level of effort and schedule
Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Additional Knowledge/Skills

Experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
Understanding of HL7 standards.
Knowledge of ITIL is an asset
Education:
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
ITIL certifications a plus
