Business Analyst

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement and Requirement Gathering
    • Gather detailed business requirements from finance and accounting teams to understand their needs, pain points, and goals.
    • Work closely with business stakeholders to analyze and document current business processes and how they align with financial operations.
    • Conduct breakout sessions and interviews to collect relevant information on financial requirements.
  • Business Requirement Specification and Communication
    • Translate business requirements into detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)/User stories.
    • Ensure that requirements are clearly communicated to SAP S/4HANA functional consultants or developers.
    • Liaise with ACN functional consultants to ensure that the solution design aligns with the business needs.
    • Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring requirements are understood and implemented as intended.
    • Be able to assess business requirements and recommend appropriate technology/tool.
  • Business Process Analysis and Documentation – (Feeds into Process optimization workstream and change impact)
    • Analyze the existing finance-related business processes and document them, identifying inefficiencies or areas of improvement.
    • Document “To-Be” business processes, including internal controls, resulting from technology changes.
    • Help define "As-Is" and "To-Be" business processes for finance modules, ensuring a clear understanding of how the system will change or improve operations.
    • Ensure business processes align with industry best practices to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
    • Identify optimization automation opportunities within financial workflows to reduce manual intervention and increase operational efficiency.
  • Change Management and User Adoption (THIS IS BEING LED BY CHANGE ACTIVATION, BUSINESS ANALYST WOULD MAINLY SUPPORT THESE ACTIVITIES)
    • Work with change management teams to help prepare the business for the transition to SAP S/4HANA.
    • Assist in developing training materials and provide training and/or support to business users during system changes.
    • Help manage expectations and ensure end users understand how the new system will impact their daily tasks.
    • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) by gathering feedback from users and helping ensure that the system meets their expectations.
  • System Integration and Data Quality
    • Work with both the business and IT teams to understand integration requirements with other modules or third-party systems (e.g., Concur, HR systems, BRIM, Fieldglass).
    • Help define data governance processes, ensuring that financial data within SAP S/4HANA is accurate, consistent, and compliant.
  • Risk and Compliance Analysis
    • Assist the business in understanding regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and how they impact financial processes and will be accounted for in the solution.
    • Ensure that business requirements include necessary compliance and audit controls, such as segregation of duties, approvals, and tracking of financial transactions.
    • Support internal audits by helping prepare the business for SAP S/4HANA-related audits and ensuring the system is set up to facilitate compliance.
  • Project Management Assistance
    • Support project managers by tracking requirements (ideation to adoption) and associated tasks to ensure adherence to timelines.
    • Assist with JIRA updates and status dashboards.
  • Direct Assistance with Certain Implementation Activities
    • Build MJE automation in PaPM.
    • Assist with and document business process MJE setup in ICMR, S4 Allocations, etc.
    • Assist with creation or revision of Code Block value lists.
    • Assist with any other key R3 activities.

Key Skills and Qualifications for Business Analyst:

  • Financial/Accounting Knowledge: Good understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, reporting standards, and compliance regulations.
  • SAP S/4HANA Familiarity: Proficient knowledge of SAP S/4HANA finance modules, tools and features, to understand system capabilities and limitations.
  • PaPM Experience: Direct experience building automation in PaPM, to directly assist with MJE Automation efforts.
  • Process Documentation and Requirements: Experience in business process documentation, including internal controls and defining requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to assess and analyze business problems, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage timelines, coordinate resources, and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Strong Communication: Ability to communicate effectively between technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing stakeholder expectations and resolving conflicts.
