    BITCO Corporation is currently seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to join our Home Office team in Davenport, IA. BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including construction, forest products, and oil & gas.
    Position Summary:
    The Senior IT Business Analyst is a strategic, consultative leader who plays a critical role in driving enterprise modernization initiatives across core insurance platforms, business processes, and functional domains. This role goes beyond traditional requirements gathering to shape future state business capabilities, challenge existing operating models, and influence how technology enables the organization's long-term strategy.
    The Senior IT Business Analyst partners closely with both Business and IT leadership to lead complex initiatives such as core systems transformations, enterprise platform implementations, legacy modernization, process re-engineering, and AI enabled solutions. The role requires deep insurance domain expertise, strong business acumen, and the ability to facilitate difficult conversations that redefine how work is performed. This position serves as a trusted advisor to both business and technology leaders, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value and are scalable for the future.
    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Provides analysis and detailed functional specifications of user requirements to meet business needs of the organization as they pertain to the function and use of modern systems.
    • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Develops detailed documentation of process improvements, user requirements, program functions, and steps required to develop or enhance business applications and processes.
    • Challenge existing processes, policies, and system constraints to enable business process re-engineering, modernization, and simplification rather than replicating current-state behaviors
    • Participates in the approach and creation of QA/UAT test plans, can help define data validation, and expected test results through defined acceptance criteria
    • Serve as a senior strategic advisor to business and IT leaders, guiding the definition of future-state capabilities across key business areas with a technical focus on modern system implementation
    • Lead and facilitate complex discovery sessions, workshops, and working groups with business leaders, SMEs, architects, developers, and testers to drive alignment on business outcomes, scope, and solution approach
    • Help define and communicate actionable platform and service vision, strategy, and roadmap to both business and delivery teams, collaborating closely to ensure design solutions deliver value to the end user and ensure timely, accurate project delivery.
    • Develop and document business requirements, personas, use cases, user journey mappings, wireframes or other needed documentation to facilitate discussions and document the platform.
    • Translate business strategy and operational needs into clear, outcome-oriented requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria aligned to modern enterprise platforms
    • Lead end-to-end analysis for large-scale initiatives, including core insurance system platforms, integrated services, (e.g., Duck Creek), enterprise data, and technical debt reduction and elimination
    • Partner with architects and delivery teams to ensure business intent is preserved in solution design, integrations, data flows, and downstream impacts
    • Guide solution refinement and backlog prioritization, ensuring alignment with enterprise roadmaps and overall modernization strategy
    • Actively manage requirement dependencies, tradeoffs, risks, and change impacts across multiple workstreams
    • Collaborate closely with QA and business testing teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives and support operational readiness
    • Mentor and coach Business Analysts, elevating analysis practices and setting standards for senior-level execution
    • Maintain current knowledge of insurance industry developments and stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the market.
    • Drive a culture of data-driven decision-making, operational insight, and continuous improvement
    • Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly to executive-level stakeholders
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or equivalent experience required
    • 6+ years of progressive Business Analysis experience with Property/Casualty or Specialty insurance/financial services experience highly preferred
    • Ability to document complex requirements while enforcing technical, development, and process discipline to gain business consensus, and navigate complex legacy challenges.
    • Serves as a change agent, supporting adoption of new systems, processes, and business capabilities across the organization
    • Influences through data-driven storytelling and structured communication, ensuring alignment and clarity across diverse groups.
    • Proven experience supporting enterprise modernization initiatives, including core policy/claims platform transformations, legacy system migration, and business process re-engineering
    • Strong understanding of end-to-end insurance operations, including product structure, rating, underwriting workflows, claims lifecycle, and regulatory considerations
    • Experience working with enterprise insurance platforms and integrations (Duck Creek Platform, SFDC/CRM, SNOW, SOA) preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to operate at a strategic level, influencing business leaders and challenging current-state thinking
    • Experience supporting or enabling data, analytics, or AI-driven business capabilities is highly desirable
    • Advanced facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across executive, business, and technical audiences
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of solutions.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate ambiguity into actionable direction
    • Comfortable operating in complex, fast-moving transformation environments with multiple priorities and dependencies
