About The Position
The Business Performance Specialist supports the activities of the MO Regulated Field Operations Support and Analysis department. Interacts with Energy Delivery SVP, Directors, as well as various Ameren Controllers and personnel.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Interact with leadership as well as other supervisory and engineering personnel in matters relating to Energy Delivery budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare and submit the annual budget, research and offer advice to resolve any significant variances between actual and budgeted expenditures and assist operating personnel in preparing a business case for items proposed for budgetary consideration.
  • Produce and review internal financial/operational reports. Create new automated reports as necessary.
  • Prepare external regulatory filings with the Missouri Public Service Commission.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, procedures and controls.
  • Analyze various source systems and their data for the purpose of making recommendations in process changes to drive consistency and to improve future reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in the development of department/segment procedures to insure compliance with corporate policies.
  • May serve on or lead cross-functional teams within the department and organization.
  • Demonstrate technical subject matter expertise and/or overall business acumen.
  • Assist the Manager with special projects as assigned and prepares specialized reports and confidential documents.

Qualifications - Business Performance Specialist
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university required. Master's Degree or CPA/CMA/CFA preferred. Three or more years relevant accounting experience (understanding of accounting, budget preparation and statistical analysis) required without an advanced degree or certification. One or more years relevant accounting experience (understanding of accounting, budget preparation and statistical analysis) required with Master's Degree or CPA/CMA/CFA.
Qualifications - Senior Business Performance Specialist
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field from an accredited college or university required. Five or more years of relevant accounting experience (accounting, budget preparation, and statistical analysis) required. Master's Degree or CPA/CMA/CFA preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
A working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications and advanced level proficiency with Excel is required. Working knowledge of specific Ameren applications (UIP, General Ledger, Power Plant, IMR, EMPRV, Maximo, TRIS, etc.) preferred. Good organizational, problem-solving, analytical, communication, and human relations skills are required. Demonstrated ability to monitor reports, solve problems and be decisive, proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks requiring priority setting and deadlines. Must show initiative and attention to detail and work well in a team environment.

Compensation Range:
$71,100.00 - $137,200.00
* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
