Job description

Manager, Business Operations
Location: Omaha, NE, On-Site
Help Build the Business—Not Just Support It.
We're not looking for someone to manage a calendar. We're looking for someone who wants a seat at the table.
At Placemaker, we're intentionally creating a role for someone who enjoys solving business problems, improving how organizations operate, and helping great ideas become reality.
If you're the kind of person who naturally asks, "There has to be a better way," keeps projects moving without being asked, and enjoys bringing order to complexity, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
The Manager, Business Operations will partner directly with executive leadership to help drive the company's most important priorities.
This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that blends business operations, strategic project management, executive partnership, process improvement, and technology. No two days will look exactly alike.
One day you might be coordinating a company-wide initiative. The next, improving an internal process, building executive reporting, evaluating new technology, or helping solve an operational challenge. Success isn't measured by how many tasks you complete—it's measured by how much better the organization operates because you're here.
What You'll Do
  • Partner with executive leadership to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional projects from planning through implementation.
  • Improve business processes and create scalable operational systems.
  • Build reporting, dashboards, and tools that support better decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology and AI.
  • Research business challenges and recommend practical solutions.
  • Support office operations and employee experience initiatives.
  • Help create alignment, accountability, and momentum across the organization.
Who We're Looking For
You'll likely thrive in this role if you:
  • Take initiative without waiting to be asked.
  • Enjoy solving problems and improving processes.
  • Like bringing organization to ambiguity.
  • Can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Build trust quickly and communicate well with people across an organization.
  • Enjoy learning new technology and finding smarter ways to work.
  • Want a role that offers variety, ownership, and meaningful impact.
What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, executive operations, project management, office management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple priorities, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and driving projects to completion.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Curiosity about technology, AI, and finding better ways to work.
Why Placemaker?
We're a growing real estate company that believes great businesses are built by people who take ownership, think strategically, and continuously look for better ways to operate. If you're looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact, solve interesting business challenges, and work alongside a collaborative leadership team, we'd love to start a conversation.
Compensation: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
