Job description

Welcome to Love's College Intern Program: The Love’s college internship program is frequently referred to as the best in Oklahoma City. This rapidly growing program provides opportunities for students in multiple areas of the business to receive employee level experience, not just busy work. Students also gain valuable knowledge that they can’t get in a classroom; they are guided through proper etiquette of a professional corporate setting. With a high percentage of full time offers, Love’s takes the time to invest not only in the students, but in their future.

 Internship Activities: Over the course of the summer, Love’s interns also participate in the following: 

  • Tour of multiple business operations
  • Q&A sessions with executives
  • Participation in Greater Grads: InternOKC
  • Community volunteering activities
  • Social/Networking events
  • Classroom skills-based training
  • Mentor program
  • Structured performance feedback
  • Formal presentation to Love’s leadership

The Operations Intern will support field operations leadership and corporate departments by assisting with the coordination, planning, and implementation of projects, programs, and tests that impact field operations. This role helps ensure alignment with Love’s strategic priorities.

Job Functions:

  • Assist with managing projects, programs, and test rollouts to the field, preventing conflicts and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Support the Operations team and corporate departments during project planning and development.
  • Learn about communication efforts that ensure all impacted departments are aware of upcoming projects or initiatives with larger impact.
  • Provide support for change management efforts by championing change and providing adequate resources to ensure successful change management processes.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updates of Operations manuals and guidelines.
  • Receive exposure to analytical and briefing support to the Operations team.
  • Travel to nearby locations for evaluating processes and procedures related to assigned projects.
  • Participate in classroom training modules·
  • Experience multiple business operations.
  • Assist with special projects and events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
  • Previous retail management internship experience with Love’s Travel Stops preferred.
  • Relevant coursework and/or additional internship experience is a plus.

Skills and Physical Demands:

  • Technical skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, ability to work in ambiguous situations, resilience, attention to detail, workload management, organization, time management, and strong follow-up.
  •  Interpersonal skills: Ability to build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and trust.
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Critical thinking abilities
  • Typical Physical Demands: Prolonged sitting with occasional bending and stooping.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  •  Normal hearing and vision range required.
