Weekly Schedule: Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm

Senior Portfolio Managers within the PMO lead cross-functional delivery across multiple areas of the Bank. Their teams partner with Lines of Business, Operations, Enterprise Technology (ET), journey, Agile, and steering partners to identify strategic opportunities for efficiency, risk mitigation, and new client offerings, then drive initiatives through the Discovery & Analysis and Implementation phases of the Project Management Lifecycle. Senior Portfolio Managers set a standard of excellence in facilitation, executive-level planning, budgeting, organizational rigor, and proven execution techniques—ensuring clear governance, management visibility, and risk-aware delivery. Success in this role requires mastery of business and operations processes across all channels, with a deep understanding of how process, applications, and data interconnect to deliver value for our clients and associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Manager associates; set priorities, balance workloads, provide feedback, and support hiring, onboarding, and mentoring.
  • Align the portfolio to enterprise and Line of Business strategies to deliver outcomes for our clients; translate strategy into a prioritized, executable roadmap.
  • Govern demand intake and prioritization; facilitate business cases, sizing, and funding decisions in partnership with LOB, Operations, Enterprise Technology, Finance, and Risk/Compliance.
  • Oversee delivery across programs and projects—schedule, budget, scope, quality—ensuring adherence to EPMO governance, stage gates, and controls.
  • Manage interdependencies and the critical path across initiatives; proactively remove impediments and escalate decisions to sponsors and steering committees.
  • Own portfolio financial management: consolidate budgets and forecasts, track actuals, analyze variances, and ensure benefits realization and value tracking against targets.
  • Drive resource and capacity planning across the portfolio; align roles/skills to priorities, manage allocation changes, and partner with IT and Operations leaders on staffing.
  • Maintain a portfoliolevel risk and issue register; ensure timely mitigation plans, contingency actions, and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. The Enterprise Portfolio Manager Sr provides day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for a team of Project Managers, aligning priorities, balancing workloads, and ensuring adherence to governance, risk controls, and the Project Management Lifecycle. They set delivery expectations, review schedules, budgets, scope, and risks across the portfolio, remove impediments and escalate as needed, and develop associates through feedback, mentoring, and participation in hiring and annual reviews to keep initiatives on track for our clients.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year college) required.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in project/program/portfolio management, including leading complex, multiinitiative portfolios.
  • 3+ years managing or coaching Project Managers and crossfunctional associates in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong financial acumen: budgeting/forecasting, benefits realization, variance analysis, and business case development.
  • Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methods; ability to tailor approach to the initiative.
  • Proficiency with PPM and reporting tools (e.g., Clarity PPM) and data visualization (e.g., Power BI/Tableau); strong Excel skills.
