Litigation Defense Attorney - Tampa

Beytin McLaughlin is seeking an experienced associate attorney for its Tampa office to support shareholders and partners in the defense of medical malpractice and insurance-related litigation matters.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for an attorney with insurance defense, personal injury defense, or related litigation experience who is interested in developing and expanding their practice tomedical malpractice defense. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing timely and substantive reports to insurance carriers and clients; reviewing and analyzing medical records; conducting legal research; drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and other litigation documents; and preparing deposition, expert, and medical record summaries. The associate attorney will also assist with depositions, hearings, mediations, trial preparation, and other litigation activities as needed.

In addition, the position includes meaningful client interaction, including working directly with treating physicians and other healthcare providers to prepare them for legal consultations, depositions, and trial testimony in civil and criminal matters.

Candidates must be members in good standing with The Florida Bar, have excellent academic credentials, and possess strong writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Prior experience with insurance carrier reporting and billing requirements is preferred. The ideal candidate is motivated, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Applicants should be technologically proficient and comfortable utilizing case management systems, reporting platforms, and available technology tools to work efficiently and effectively.
