Business Intelligence Specialist in  GAC Savannah

The Global Logistics group supports the business transformation across the supply chain organization. Through SAP deployments/initiatives,  RPA and BOTS initiatives, and data analytics. 

  • Successful candidates for this role will have preferred experience in Power BI and developing dashboards which includes data modeling, design, and analytics solution which will be presented to executives. Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
  • Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
  • Experience building and supporting data pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of KPI development, metrics management, and performance reporting.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and master data management principles.
  • Experience with predictive analytics, trend analysis, and data-driven decision-making.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related curriculum or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Master's Degree preferred. 10 years Computer Science, IT, or related technical experience with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Position Purpose: Guide the successful completion and delivery of solutions for difficult business challenges. Perform complex data analysis, extraction, and delivery activities. Lead the execution of information, and data. Complete complex work assignments, resolve complex issues, and guide team members on escalated issues. Serve as a business focal and contribute to the achievement of team/organization goals. Align the functionality of complex Enterprise Applications with organizational business needs. Ensure that the Application results in significant process improvements.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Keep abreast of new system database technologies and data extraction techniques and practices. Make recommendations as appropriate .
  2. Interface with vendor and Corporate IT personnel to ensure Application's functionality is delivered in accordance with specified requirements .
  3. Develop detailed test scripts and conduct rigorous tests to ensure Application functionality and performance are in compliance with business requirements .
  4. Provide specialized technical assistance and training to Business Intelligence team members .
Additional Functions:
  1. Support the development of reports with analytical processing systems, such as BOBJ, SQL, COGNOS er. .
  2. Maintain current application-related information on corporate intranet, Sharepoint, and/or SmarTeam (FAQs, process maps, troubleshooting guides, etc.) .
  3. Develop and maintain web based tools as required. .
  4. Actively work to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements. .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products and databases, data extraction techniques and applications, and data reporting/analysis tools & techniques leveraging databases.
  2. Strong knowledge of how data works within Operations, Materials, Procurement, Quality, and/or Finance to provide information to the business unit.
  3. Detail oriented with an ability to meet critical deadlines and manage multiple assignments and priorities.
  4. Strong understanding of data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries, database design, and usage of relational and dimensional data models and structure required.
  5. Proven knowledge of industry best practices.
  6. Excellent verbal, written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact at Director and VP level.
  7. Proven track record of significant business data solutions delivered using SQL, EDW, BW, BOBJ reporting techniques.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
