Job description

Director, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence

Purpose

The Director, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence will play a hands-on role driving the overall technical and solutions architecture and business intelligence practices within Cinch. This individual will be responsible for bringing in new data/database technologies and proving out the technologies and implementation of these technologies as well as overseeing the work of the centralized BI practice.

On the data warehouse side this role will work closely with Business Sponsors, the technology team, Scrum Masters and Architects, to lead Cinch’s analytical modernization efforts.

In addition, this leader will be accountable for overseeing the development of statistical models as specified by the business and creating a repeatable, scalable process and platform for model production and maintenance. This is a high-impact role.

Experience & Education

  • 10+ years of industry experience in architecture, analytics, design, or software development.
  • 10+ years of hands-on statistical modeling experience
  • 5+ years managing teams to scope, develop and deliver Machine Learning models into production.
  • Experience with one or more RDBMS platforms (AWS RDS, Oracle, Snowflake, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with ETL / ELT tools like Talend, Air Byte, DBT, Apache Kafka
  • Good understanding about DTC technologies, Salesforce Salescloud, GA4
  • Previous exposure to ETL / ELT tool migrations projects
  • Experience in logical and physical data modeling and data integration, data mining, data migration, and quality (assessment) management.
  • Good understanding of Semantic Layer, exposure to enterprise reporting tools like MicroStrategy, Power BI, and Tableau
  • Data Management experience including Data Governance, Master Data Management, Reference Data Management and Metadata Management
  • Recent experience implementing foundational architecture for AI strategy execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related degree

Skills

  • Fluent in Python, SQL
  • Quick prototyping if needed to evaluate and POC.
  • Platform Analytics and Cost Control of Credit based technologies like Snowflake and AWS usage.
  • Ability to work cross-organizationally to facilitate widespread use and adoption of the data platform and have deep expertise in cloud technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the cloud platform.
  • Ability to lead architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
  • Act as a technical liaison between Data & Analytics and Technology teams, other teams as needed to evolve CINCH’s data architecture.
  • Ensures security is integrated into all architecture solutions.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge within the Information Management and architect community.
  • Maintain fluency and current knowledge of data computing technologies, trends, services, and popular third-party tools.
  • Responsible for establishing technological governance for data platforms, best practices, standards, data architecture patterns, checklists.
  • Conversant with Metadata driven architectures (metadata tagging, data classifications, lineage, discovery)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills; written and verbal communication including the ability to influence.
  • Ability to negotiate resolution of issues and conflicts.
