Job description

Role: The Business Intelligence Analyst will work independently on all data-oriented tasks to provide analytic and strategic guidance to the credit union. They will support business intelligence activities by researching, analyzing and preparing ad-hoc analytics on product and service performance. They will use a variety of quantitative methods to segment, analyze and interpret the composition of our member base and their interaction with the credit union. They will also use data visualization software to create interactive dashboards for developing insights and communicate findings. This position will assist in fulfilling the mission of the credit union and will maintain a strong member service chain in order to create and maintain loyalty with both internal/external members and vendors. UICCU employees are responsible for supporting our Do More Good philosophy, promotion of the core values of our organization, and fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service to both internal and external members and demonstrate a strong commitment to the organization's Do More Good culture by fostering a positive work environment and promoting our core values in all interactions.
  • Identify relevant data and metrics to analyze and share data metrics with management and staff ensuring data is accurate and meaningful.
  • Provide statistical reports and develop analyses to maximize organizational intelligence.
  • Acquire and combine data from several sources to create a comprehensive, effective business intelligence system that will help drive decision making for UICCU.
  • Import, clean and update data from a variety of sources and report in necessary formats per the credit union's needs and derive trends from data providing actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and reconcile/balance those systems and sources with core systems and financial information delivering accurate and timely information.
  • Work collaboratively with management in planning, developing and implementing various data analytics and project plans. Support self-service visualization platforms.
  • Maintains relevant organizational and departmental dashboards, build analytical data models and trending and analysis.
  • Identify and suggest process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance departmental efficiency.
  • Own internal and external member problems, issues and complaints and ensure the proper follow up or escalation to achieve proper resolution.

Performance Measurements:

  • Consistently meet all service standards when delivering both internal and external service as measured by services observations and internal service results.
  • Continuously meet and/or exceed established goals and objectives identified in the annual performance goal document for this position. Support credit union initiatives to achieve desired balanced scorecard results.
  • Define process, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Test data and validate conclusions for accuracy and logic prior to distribution.
  • Open and collaborative style; must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of credit union's product and services as well as compliance items (BSA/ HR/AML and OFAC) through self-study and available training and development opportunities. Must receive passing score on all assessments.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of attendance and visibility at all branches to ensure the highest level of service and support of our culture.

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience:  Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

  • Experience with SQL and Microsoft Power BI is a must
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into simple insights

Bonus Experience:

  • Experience with Snowflake Analytics
  • Innovation and AI inquisitive

Education Bachelors required. Advanced Degree preferred.

Interpersonal Skills:   Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
