Job Description
NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work onsite at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 4 days/week in order to be considered for this position.
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, leveraging deep domain knowledge and analysis skills to drive product evolution through data analysis, issue triage, root cause analysis, requirement definition, user acceptance testing, and feature delivery support. This role flexes across our Retail Hub platform and our Vendor/Partner Management transformation, bringing consistency and rigor to both.
The Analyst is responsible for ensuring that we deeply understand our current system/process ecosystem and can apply this knowledge to net-new feature development, so we build the right features for our customers within the context of the larger system/process landscape. The Analyst is always curious, understands how process and technology changes fit into company strategy, and applies this knowledge to deliver business value through feature delivery and product support.

  • Domain Expertise: Develop functional expertise across Retail Hub and Vendor/Partner Management domains, moving fluidly between the two based on business need
  • Business Requirements: Collaborate across the enterprise to gather business requirements and use cases, translating them into functional specifications
  • Data Solutions: Partner with product managers and business leaders to establish key metrics or success measures and to promote standard work and data governance
  • Reporting: Design and build reporting tools and dashboards for end users, turning raw data into clear, actionable views that non-technical stakeholders can use to make decisions
  • Process and Data Mapping: Co-design, document, and analyze existing or proposed processes, systems, and/or data concepts
  • Testing: Lead test script development, test planning, and user acceptance testing
  • Analysis: Conduct data-driven analyses, and create and use reporting tools to provide actionable, timely, and accurate insights into system and business health
  • Communication: Update stakeholders and project teams on progress, issues, and risks before, during, and after development and implementation
  • Incident Support: Partner with cross-functional teams to provide post-deployment issue management and support
  • Expertise: Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams to drive effective, timely solutions that fulfill both strategic and operational needs

You own this if you have...
  • Minimum 5+ years of business or systems analysis experience
  • Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, finance, economics, or a related quantitative discipline preferred
  • Experience building reporting and dashboards for end users strongly preferred
  • Experience in Retail Planning, Inventory Optimization, or Retail Inventory Management preferred
  • Data querying, analysis, and visualization skills preferred
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Comfort working across multiple product domains and shifting priorities

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$80,000.00 - $132,000.00 Annual
