Summary
The Business Intelligence Manager will lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of BI systems, visualizations, and analytics solutions that support strategic decision-making across Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and Operations. This role bridges Finance, IT, and business teams to translate complex data into actionable insights that drive profitability and operational excellence. The successful candidate will own the BI roadmap, create/manage key dashboards and reporting systems, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to solve business problems through analytics.

Duties and Responsibilities

BI Systems & Infrastructure

  • Architect, build, and maintain enterprise BI solutions (data warehouses and analytical databases) to support financial and operational reporting
  • Design dimensional data models and ETL processes that consolidate data from ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA), supply chain platforms, and other business applications
  • Manage BI tool deployments (Domo) and ensure system performance, security, and scalability
  • Collaborate with IT on data quality, system integration, and infrastructure requirements

Analytics & Insight Development

  • Develop strategic dashboards and KPI frameworks for executive leadership, covering financial performance, pricing, margin analysis, supply chain costs, and category P&L
  • Conduct ad hoc analyses supporting business initiatives (plant efficiency, cost reduction, pricing optimization, promotion effectiveness, channel performance)
  • Build predictive models and forecasting tools for demand planning, inventory management, and financial planning
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver solutions on schedule

Reporting & Performance Management

  • Own production of monthly/quarterly financial reports, variance analysis, and performance reviews
  • Develop and maintain category P&L and business segment reporting
  • Support audit and compliance reporting requirements
  • Document business rules, calculation methodologies, and report definitions

Team & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Lead and mentor a small analytics team (1-2 FTEs) as the function grows
  • Partner with Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and the other business functions to prioritize BI initiatives and roadmap
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new BI/analytics tools and solutions
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data analytics, Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent professional experience; MBA or Graduate degree a plus
  • 5+ years of BI, data analytics, or business analysis experience in a corporate or mid-market environment
  • BI tool expertise with at least one major platform (Domo, Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, MicroStrategy) including dashboard/report design and data model development

Advanced analytics capabilities including statistical modeling, predictive analytics, or machine learning

Supply chain analytics background, including inventory, procurement, or manufacturing cost analysis

  • Financial acumen with strong understanding of P&L, profitability analysis, variance analysis, and KPI development
  • Data modeling experience including ETL design and data warehouse concepts
  • ERP system knowledge, preferably SAP S/4HANA, including financial modules, controlling, and reporting capabilities
  • Communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business audiences and present insights to senior leadership
  • Project management experience delivering analytics solutions on time and within scope
  • Food/CPG industry experience or familiarity with category P&L, supply chain cost analysis, and pricing optimization
