Starting pay- $18.60 an hour. Assist FCS clients with applying, navigating, and understanding insurance benefits. Serve as the agency's insurance expert and liaison between clients and staff to maximize reimbursement. This is a client-facing position, not an internal HR or employee benefits role. As a Benefits and Eligibility Specialist, this position combines strong computer skills with client interaction to help individuals navigate Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance options while ensuring all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Verify client insurance information and make applicable updates in the EHR.
  • Determine client eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, or other applicable insurance.
  • Assist with Medicaid enrollment and re-enrollment.
  • Ensure applications are completed correctly with required supporting materials.
  • Provide unbiased Medicaid insurance information to current and prospective clients regarding the Medicaid Contracted Entity benefits plans aka "SoonerSelect" benefits plans.
  • Handle questions, issues, and provide detailed information on Oklahoma Medicaid eligibility, rules, benefits, and requirements for enrollment or re-enrollment.
  • Documenting client paperwork into the FCS database.
  • Provide outreach to clients to assist with education and comprehension of Medicaid enrollment, re-enrollment, and coverage.
  • Utilize reports to target and assist with updating client insurance information.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Driver's license and satisfactory driving record to navigate to other FCS business sites.

Preferences:
  • Medicaid and insurance experience preferred
  • Mental health experience preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred

Knowledge:
  • Exceptional computer skills- must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Strong attention to detail and efficiency interacting with online data entry and web-based programs.

CCBHC Model of Care
Family & Children's Services works to heal hurting and abused children, strengthen families, and provide hope and a path to recovery for those battling mental illness and addiction. You will be working in an innovative and dynamic environment using a new transformative model of care Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). This model is characterized by innovative, team-based approach and whole person care for adults and children with a range of complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Utilizing multi-disciplinary teams, Therapists work collaboratively to provide a coordinated effort to enhance client recovery. Robust CCBHC services often result in better client outcomes and quality of care due to:
  1. Increased access to care and crisis services
  2. Expanded traditional community mental health and substance use services.
  3. Added Care Coordination and physical health screening for mental health clients
  4. Greater access to Social Services for clients' economic and social needs
  5. Increased specialized services for veterans, those most in need, and those impacted by the opioid crisis.
