Job Description:
Our client is hiring a Senior Business Development Manager to lead strategic partnerships for a robotics and physical AI platform. This role will own developer ecosystem growth, partnership pipeline, and high-impact BD deals with AI companies, robotics OEMs, research institutions, and technical ecosystem partners. The ideal candidate has strong B2B sales, strategic partnerships, developer platform, robotics, AI, or deep tech GTM experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the developer partner pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and closing strategic BD opportunities with companies building on or integrating with the clientโ€™s robotics platform.
  • Build the go-to-market playbook for the developer market, including partnership tiers, commercial structures, co-development agreements, and API licensing frameworks.
  • Drive technical partnerships with AI companies, robotics OEMs, autonomy providers, foundation model labs, and research institutions.
  • Work closely with engineering, product, and developer relations teams to structure integrations, pilot programs, and joint development agreements.
  • Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations, including NDAs, MOUs, licensing agreements, and partnership contracts in collaboration with legal counsel.
  • Build and maintain C-level and VP-level relationships across the physical AI and robotics ecosystem.
  • Represent the company at robotics and AI industry events, conferences, and developer community touchpoints.
  • Share market intelligence, developer needs, competitive dynamics, and ecosystem feedback to inform the companyโ€™s SDK and platform roadmap.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, or related roles in robotics, deep tech, AI, developer platforms, or technical B2B markets.
  • Proven track record of independently closing strategic partnerships, licensing deals, or multi-million-dollar commercial agreements.
  • Strong technical fluency with topics such as robotics platforms, SDKs, APIs, data pipelines, AI model integration, autonomy, or developer tools.
  • Experience structuring non-standard commercial agreements, including co-development, licensing, joint development, data-sharing, or API licensing agreements.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to build relationships with C-level and VP-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working with product, engineering, legal, and GTM teams in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to operate independently in a high-impact, fast-moving startup environment.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% for conferences, partner meetings, and customer visits.
  • Experience with developer platform GTM, foundation model labs, AI research organizations, federal / defense robotics contracts, university research partnerships, or grant programs is a plus.
