Job Summary:

The Commercial Business Development Manager is responsible for driving specification influence, protecting product specifications, and identifying value-engineered flooring solutions for national and regional end user’s, general contractors, subcontractors, and management groups within an assigned territory.

This role is accountable for developing and maintaining strategic relationships, generating new business opportunities, and managing assigned projects throughout the entire sales cycle—from project identification and specification through bid, award, installation, and post-sale support. The Commercial Business Development Manager serves as a trusted resource to customers by delivering product expertise, market intelligence, and value-driven solutions that support project success while achieving company sales and growth objectives.

What you will be doing:

  • Execute daily sales and service calls, utilizing both in-person visits and remote resources.
  • Maintain organized, efficient account management and apply aggressive, strategic approaches to securing projects.
  • Act as a trusted resource, providing superior product expertise and customer support throughout the entire sales lifecycle.
  • Prioritize daily updates within the TAS CRM system, tracking new business activities, opportunities, tasks, notes, and documents.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to maximize the number of product opportunities captured per project.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with managers and commercial teams to map out strategies for key project opportunities.
  • Deliver regular sales report updates and territory insights as requested by leadership.
  • Represent the company at marketing events, seminars, and trade shows.
  • Commit to continuous learning, product knowledge, andprofessional development.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously ,maintaining strict attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in navigating complex procurement processes and negotiating with various stakeholders (architects, owners, general contractors).
  • Ability to analyze sales reports and market trends to pivot strategies and maximize territory growth.
  • Highly developed verbal and written skills for delivering technical presentations to decision-makers.
  • A high degree of autonomy with the ability to manage a25% travel schedule and work effectively in a high-pressure environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor'sdegree in Business, Marketing, or Construction Management highly preferred.
  • 7 or more years of proven success in commercial sales, specifically dealing with End Users, Architects, Designers, and Subcontractors.
  • 3 or more years of project management experience within the construction or flooring industry, with a track record of managing projects from "spec to deck."
  • Strong history of calling on individuals within procurement departments and key decision-makers within the commercial sector.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is performed in the office as well as in a warehouse setting and outside weather conditions.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel to customer locations is required(25%).
  • Travel to work locations and trade shows is required(10%).
  • Ability to lift to 30 lbs. may be required on occasion.
