Business Development Manager

Position Summary:

The Business Development Manager role supports our growth by identifying new business opportunities, engaging prospective clients, and helping build a robust sales pipeline. This role is ideal for someone early to mid-career who is eager to develop commercial skills, gain exposure to client acquisition, and grow into a high-performing sales professional.

The position will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to research prospects, initiate outreach, and nurture relationships with potential customers. This is a hands-on role designed to build core commercial capabilities. This role offers real exposure to the full sales cycle while contributing directly to company growth, and is a strong entry point for anyone looking to further develop a career in business development.

Biologics Consulting Group, Inc. works with medical device, biologics, and pharmaceutical companies to advance patient health.


Responsibilities:

· Research and identify new business opportunities through market analysis, CRM tools, and online platforms within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device and related life sciences organizations

· Conduct outbound outreach via email, phone, industry conferences and LinkedIn to engage prospective clients

· Qualify leads and schedule meetings for senior sales representatives and consultants

· Maintain and update CRM records with accurate client and pipeline information

· Support the creation of sales presentations, proposals, and outreach materials

· Assist in developing and executing lead-generation campaigns

· Follow up on inbound inquiries and manage early-stage client communications

· Collaborate with marketing to improve targeting and messaging

· Track and report on outreach activity, lead conversion, and pipeline progress

· The incumbent will lead by example and foster a team environment, ensuring an overall ‘culture of quality’ in the high-quality execution of services provided to clients

· Meet or exceed individual sales and business development goals


Requirements:

· 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or similar client-facing role in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device industries

· Proven track record of achieving year over year growth in sales targets

· Demonstrated ability to build relationships and generate new business opportunities

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

· Confident and professional approach when engaging with new and prospective clients

· Ability to research and quickly understand diverse therapeutics, modalities, industries and customer needs

· Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts related to drug development

· Comfortable working with targets, KPIs, or performance metrics

· Basic proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar)

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Demonstrated success in outbound outreach or lead generation

· Exposure to B2B environments

· Familiarity with LinkedIn prospecting or digital marketing tools

· Degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, business, marketing, communications, or related field

· Results-driven and motivated by achieving targets


Preferred:

· Experience selling consulting services to life sciences organizations

· Exposure to biotechnology, pharmaceutical, cell and gene therapy, or related sectors

· MBA or advanced life sciences degree is an asset but not required
