Optikos is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth initiatives and expand our presence in existing and emerging markets. In this role, you will identify new business opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth while collaborating closely with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing. You will serve as a trusted advisor to prospective customers, helping them identify technical solutions that align with their business objectives.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, research, and pursue new customers, markets, strategic partnerships, and business opportunities to drive sustainable revenue growth.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, industry events, and existing customer relationships.
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to expand existing markets and penetrate new industries.
  • Identify companies and emerging technologies that align with Optikos' strategic objectives and evaluate potential partnership opportunities.
  • Lead high-value and strategically important business development initiatives that support the company's long-term growth strategy.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Develop sales strategies, negotiate commercial agreements, and support contract discussions to maximize business value.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of Optikos' products, technologies, and applications to effectively communicate customer value through presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
  • Coordinate/ collaborate with the Key Account Management team regarding new accounts and prospective customers, developing strategies and plans to grow business within those identified accounts.
  • Consult with prospective customers to understand technical requirements and coordinate with Engineering to develop tailored solutions.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for strategic partners by coordinating meetings, site visits, evaluations, and due diligence activities.
  • Develop business cases that evaluate investment opportunities, financial impact, competitive positioning, and potential risks.
  • Maintain and communicate an accurate pipeline of business development leads & opportunities, providing regular updates to executive leadership.
  • Deliver timely, transparent communication regarding market trends, customer activity, and strategic initiatives.
  • Represent Optikos at trade shows, conferences, and industry events by identifying prospects, scheduling meetings, presenting company capabilities, and following up on qualified leads to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, sales metrics, and key performance indicators to guide strategic business decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely customer information, opportunities, forecasts, and sales activity within the company's CRM system.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Science, Photonics, Optics, or a related technical field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful business development, technical sales, or account management experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and close complex business opportunities, including leading contract strategy, managing contract lifecycles, and driving successful negotiations with key stakeholders.
  • Experience selling technical products, engineering solutions, or capital equipment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling and solution-based sales methodologies.
  • Proficiency using CRM systems to manage customer relationships, opportunities, forecasts, and sales pipelines.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while partnering effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30–50% for customer visits, trade shows, conferences, and other business development activities.
  • Experience within photonics, optics, imaging, metrology, semiconductor, life sciences, or advanced manufacturing industries is preferred.
  • Experience working with complex technical products and engineering teams throughout the sales process is preferred.
  • Familiarity with government, defense, or commercial technology markets is a plus.
