Job Description Summary

This position is based in our Denver office where the Business Development Specialist will play a key role acting as a communication hub providing National Accounts updates to internal and external partners. This role supports the National Account Managers with their ongoing focus to grow relationships by developing business plans and initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing new business opportunities to support the sale of Transamerica products. Manages select relationships with broker-dealers through proactive and thoughtful sales planning.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the products, services and positioning messages of Transamerica and convey to broker-dealer firms.
  • Foster relationships with key account relationship managers to determine strategic distribution opportunities for various initiatives.
  • Facilitate Request for Proposals.
  • Measure, evaluate and propose ideas to increase sales for assigned accounts.
  • Review firm agreements and partner with internal partners for execution (TAM Legal, TAM Operations) Agreements include Wealth Management, Institutional and Custodians.
  • Support Conferences including organizing, attendance, and collaboration with the events team.
  • Collaboration with the Sales Desk and external wholesalers.
  • Identify and use available resources to resolve client issues and concerns.
  • Communicate changes and updates regarding services and product materials to firm contacts.
  • Keep abreast of competitors to leverage future sales and objectives.
  • Build relationships with firm back offices to better assist with operational issues.
  • Review firm agreements and partner with internal partners for execution (TAM Legal, TAM Operations) Agreements include Wealth Management, Institutional and Custodian
  • Support Conferences including organizing, attendance, and collaboration with the events team.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Three years of sales experience in the financial services industry.
  • FINRA Series 7, or obtain within 90 days of hire date.
  • FINRA 63, or obtain within 90 days of hire date.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Sales and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency using MS Office.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Key account management experience.

The Salary for this position generally ranges between$71,000-$75,000 annually. Please note that the salary range is a good faith estimate for this position and actual starting pay is determined by several factors includingqualifications, experience, geography, work location designation (in-office, hybrid, remote) and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus of 10% based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.

This position is also currently eligible for sales and/or performance incentives. Specifics will be reflected in individual incentive plan documents. The commission variable target is $47,500, paid monthly based on applicable sales incentive plan (s).
