POSITION SUMMARY
The Community Business Development Director will be responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships and partnerships with key local and industry professionals, as well as paid and non-paid referral sources and community representatives in the region. This role will involve generating qualified leads for the community and enhancing brand awareness and positioning in the market. Reporting to the Regional Director of Business Optimization, the Director of Business Development will create and execute a purposeful monthly and quarterly calendar of external and internal events, capturing and tracking them in the community CRM (Yardi) on a daily basis. Working closely with the sales and operations team in the community, as well as the regional and corporate marketing teams, this role will be pivotal in driving external business results that align with organizational occupancy and revenue goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement a robust monthly external development and events plan for the community, consistent with the company's objectives.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate the yearly strategic business development plan with input and support from the Executive Director, corporate marketing, and operations teams.
  • Develop and manage referral partnerships and track all activity in the CRM.
  • Maintain and/or improve community occupancy level and revenue production through the development of more lead volume and the generation of strong, qualified leads.
  • Conduct scheduled tours with key professionals and industry leaders.
  • Provide a weekly activity plan and reports that document appointments, outcomes, and next steps.
  • Have impeccable follow-up and communication skills.
  • Maintain the community's Customer Relationship Management software (Yardi) accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in local and regional networking events, representing the community and company.
  • Understand the community's care offerings and Cogir programs that are differentiators to ensure proper placement and education in the community.
  • Participate in and represent the community in outreach events, networking meetings, trade shows, and other community functions.
  • Monitor and maintain promotional item inventory; assess print advertising needs.
  • Manage social media accounts if applicable.
  • Adhere to sales and marketing budget and provide input and accurate pricing information for ads, directories, social media advertising, event costs, association memberships, and all marketing and sales-related costs, working with community, regional, and corporate teams.

Requirements
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.

Experience, Competencies, and Skills:
  • A positive, curious, and dynamic leader who loves to engage with others daily.
  • 3-5 years of experience in senior living external business development and sales preferred.
  • Has a proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales goals.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, high initiative, and good judgment.
  • Demonstrate professional ethics with a positive attitude, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to motivate others and work within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and CRM.

Salary Description
$80,000
