Business Development Associate

Business Development Associate, Axios HQ

Location: Remote, Arlington, VA preferred.

Axios HQ is a software and professional services company that helps organizations improve how they communicate with employees and stakeholders. We grew out of the Axios Media newsroom and founded HQ on the principles of Smart Brevity a method that drives clear, concise, and engaging communication.

We are looking for a Business Development Associate to join our growing commercial team at Axios HQ. As a Business Development Associate, you will serve an integral role in sourcing conversations with ICP prospects to drive pipeline and ultimately grow our customer base.

Ideal candidates should have a passion for HQ's mission and values raise the bar, stay curious, be inclusive, always, and champion each other and have the following experience:

  • 1+ years of professional experience in a customer or client facing role - ex. business development, sales, customer service, account management, recruiting, etc.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time-management skills, a competitive streak and a natural inclination to push oneself to be the best
  • Strong project management skills and sales fundamentals
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and comfort with regularly speaking with clients on the phone
  • Eager for and receptive to feedback

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing sales pipelines including researching, prospecting new business leads, outbound outreach and prioritizing based on intent-signals is a plus
  • Proficiency using CRM software to manage sales processes and pipelines
