BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

Bowdoin Construction is seeking a motivated, personable, results-oriented business development associate to help drive the pursuit of the company’s strategic growth initiatives in our key market sectors, including Academic/Cultural, Corporate/Industrial/Lab, Medical/Healthcare, Residential/Hospitality, and Retail/Restaurant developments. This individual will be supported by Bowdoin’s Principal in charge of Business Development and Bowdoin’s Marketing team to develop and manage relationships that support Bowdoin’s growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Perform outreach (via email and phone) to client prospects, design firms, and real estate professionals, track responses and coordinate follow-up
  • Set meetings with client prospects and business influencers, including architects and engineers etc., supported and accompanied by principals and management staff as necessary.
  • Follow up with prospects to facilitate business opportunities and Requests for Proposals
  • Facilitate networking opportunities and attend industry events to help support making new connections
  • Coordinate with marketing department regarding business development initiatives and outreach
  • Attend trade shows and industry events with other team members
  • Assist with proposals and presentations, and as your experience level grows - advise regarding win strategies and competitive advantage
  • Maintain communication through the sales cycle to help close deals with support of principals and management staff
  • Utilize Hubspot to manage contacts and input project opportunities into Market Sector Sales Pipelines.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 1 - 5 years business development experience, preferably in the A/E/C or real estate industry. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply and will be considered
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for building and maintaining relationships based on trust and professionalism
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with use of HubSpot or other comparable CRM system / sales tracking system
  • Proficient with use of social media including Linkedin and other professional platforms
EDUCATION:
  • BS/BA in Marketing, Management, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, or English preferred
  • Educational background and/or experience in sales and construction management preferred
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have valid driver’s license and personal transportation
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must perform other duties as assigned

  • $55,000 to $85,000 depending on experience
