Essential Functions:

  • Design and maintain operational dashboards and KPI tracking systems covering transportation, warehousing, and delivery performance
  • Analyze route efficiency, fleet utilization, warehouse throughput, and labor productivity to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Build and automate recurring reports using Python and BI tooling; reduce reliance on manual data compilation
  • Conduct scenario analyses and assist with forecast tool development to support leadership planning
  • Partner with operational leaders to document current-state workflows, identify inefficiencies, and quantify the business impact of proposed changes
  • Support cross-functional initiatives including carrier management, equipment lifecycle decisions, and network optimization
  • Translate operational problems into structured analytical frameworks and present findings to senior leadership with clear recommendations
  • Assist in the development and tracking of operational playbooks, standard operating procedures, and performance benchmarks
  • Extract, clean, and model data from ERP, WMS, Labor Reporting, and other operational systems into structured, decision-ready formats
  • Identify and remediate data quality issues across operational data sources; advocate for improved data governance practices
  • Collaborate with IT to define business requirements for system enhancements, integrations, and reporting infrastructure
  • Evaluate third-party data sources (e.g., fuel price indices, carrier benchmarks) and integrate into internal models as appropriate
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for operational cost centers
  • Build business cases for capital expenditures, outsourcing decisions, and technology investments with supporting ROI analysis
  • Assist with contract analysis, benchmarking, and performance tracking against external vendor and carrier commitments

  • Familiarity with TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and/or WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), preferred
  • Exposure to ERP platforms operational reporting within them, preferred
  • Familiarity with fuel cost indexing, CPI escalation modeling, or supply chain cost drivers, preferred
  • Proficient PC skills in CRM and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems
