Position: Business / Data Analyst

Location: NYC, NY

Duration: 6 Months



Job Description:

Main Function

Technical Business Analyst within a program team, delivering projects against cost, schedule, quality and time. The program is the build and delivery of CCAR data sourcing initiative


Main Duties

Gathering requirements from Users, Writing Functional Specifications, Building Test Plans, Coordinating the modules from inception through development and to implementation of the program, delivered as a series of implementation components over phased releases. Creation of several project documentations, to team standards, to allow stakeholder and technology team engagement and successful delivery. Interaction with business and technical professionals in multiple governance forums across delivery lifecycle.


This is a hands-on role and includes proactive involvement in the following aspects of Project:

Requirement Gathering; Data analysis / reporting

Ad-hoc programming as required

Participate on User Experience Design and Business Process Design;

Working with Business to document BRDs, Writing Functional Specifications;

Working with Development and Project Managers to build the project plan;

Quality Management by writing Test Plans, Test Cases, and overseeing the testing;

Scope Management;

Stakeholder Management.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

8+ years of Business and data analysis experience with:

Working knowledge of Operations / risk & regulatory control / reporting working on data warehouse, ETL programs

Experience within a large program within financials domain.

Experience with SQL

Object oriented design familiarity


Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong BA within a banking environment (preferably investment banking)

Understanding of the full development lifecycle

Comprehensive knowledge of MS Project, Experience of working on global applications

Proven ability to work within a team environment

Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Outstanding presentation skills
