Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Business Operations, Senior Associate to drive the implementation and execution of sector-level growth strategy through operational excellence, data-driven decision support, and cross-functional coordination. This role serves as the operational backbone of the sector's business development and growth organization - owning the cadence, reporting, and analytical infrastructure that enables leadership to make informed investment decisions and drive disciplined pipeline execution.

The Business Operations, Senior Associate is responsible for leading the planning and execution of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), Customer Engagement/Business Pipeline Events (CE/BPE), Bid & Proposal (B&P) budget forecasting and allocation, and other strategic operational rhythms that ensure alignment between growth leadership, capture, finance, and program delivery. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in BD pipeline management, CRM systems, process optimization, and executive-level reporting within a government contracting environment, and is ready to operate at a strategic level to translate sector priorities into operational action.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sector Strategy Implementation: Partner with sector growth leadership to operationalize strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across business development, capture, and delivery organizations through structured planning and execution cadences.
  • Monthly & Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR): Own the end-to-end planning, preparation, and facilitation support for MBRs and QBRs - including data collection, pipeline analytics, executive briefing development, and action item tracking to drive accountability.
  • Customer Engagement & Business Pipeline Events (CE/BPE): Coordinate and support the planning and execution of customer engagement campaigns and business pipeline events, ensuring alignment with capture strategies and sector growth objectives.
  • B&P Budget Forecasting & Allocation: Lead the development and management of Bid & Proposal budget forecasts, working closely with Finance and Capture leadership to allocate resources against sector priorities and ensure fiscal discipline across the growth portfolio.
  • Pipeline Management & Data Integrity: Oversee pipeline operations and data quality assurance across the sector's active pursuits within CRM systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency of opportunity data to support leadership decision-making.
  • Executive Reporting & Analytics: Design, generate, and deliver pipeline reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses that provide growth leadership with actionable insight into pipeline health, win rates, competitive positioning, and investment performance.
  • Process Optimization & Automation: Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities that increase operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and improve the speed and quality of business operations outputs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between Business Operations, Growth/BD, Capture, Finance, Contracts, and Program Excellence - ensuring seamless information flow and alignment across functional teams.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of business operations analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, analytical rigor, and operational excellence.
  • Governance & Compliance: Support the implementation and adherence to the Peraton Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and other governance frameworks across the sector's growth portfolio.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence Support: Provide operational support for market strategy initiatives, competitive landscape analysis, and opportunity research to inform sector investment decisions.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Business Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience in business development operations, growth operations, or pipeline management within a government contracting environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing BD pipeline data, CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365), and reporting/analytics platforms.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver executive-level briefings, reports, and dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Experience with B&P budget management, forecasting, and resource allocation processes.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable operational insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage effectively with executive leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Experience leading or mentoring teams in a fast-paced, matrixed organizational environment.
  • Working knowledge of the federal contract lifecycle, government acquisition processes, and business development best practices.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting or leading Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews in a defense or intelligence sector environment.
  • Familiarity with process automation tools and techniques to improve operational workflows.
  • Experience with competitive intelligence research, market analysis, and opportunity qualification processes.
  • Knowledge of industry tools and platforms (GovWin, FPDS, SAM.gov, etc.).
  • Experience working across multiple lines of business or sectors within a large government contractor.
  • Familiarity with federal budget documents (e.g., President's Budget, Congressional Justification Books).
  • Prior experience implementing or optimizing CRM/pipeline management systems at an enterprise level.
