Overview

Are you ready to join a growing team?

CTG is seeking to fill a Business Architect opening for our client.

Location: Buffalo, NY (Preferred) / Remote (Will be expected to travel to Buffalo, NY every 4–6 weeks with Monday through Thursday in office)
Duration: 6 months

Overview:
The Business Architect will define and evolve enterprise business architecture to ensure alignment between strategy, operating model, and execution. This role translates business strategy into capability models, value streams, and transformation roadmaps that guide investment decisions and ensure delivery of measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate business strategy into capability maps, value streams, and execution roadmaps
  • Define and maintain current-state and target-state business architecture models
  • Identify capability gaps and prioritize investments based on business value
  • Support portfolio planning, funding decisions, and enterprise transformation initiatives
  • Partner with executives, product teams, and enterprise architecture to ensure alignment
  • Develop business-driven requirements for transformation programs
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across business and technology stakeholders
  • Ensure traceability from strategy through capabilities, initiatives, and outcomes
  • Establish and enforce business architecture standards and governance
  • Collaborate with Enterprise, Solution, and Data Architects on cross-domain alignment

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Business capability modeling and value stream mapping
  • Enterprise architecture and operating model design
  • Strategic planning, portfolio management, and investment prioritization
  • Strong stakeholder facilitation and executive communication skills
  • Systems thinking and enterprise analysis
  • Experience in large, complex enterprise environments (financial services preferred)

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years in business architecture, strategy, consulting, or transformation roles
  • Experience developing capability maps, value streams, and operating models
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline
  • Financial services industry experience
  • Certifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA) or TOGAF TOGAF
  • Familiarity with Business Architecture Guild / BIZBOK practices Business Architecture Guild

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Individual contributor role; no direct reports
  • May provide informal leadership across cross-functional teams
