The Talent Mine is recruiting an IT Operations Team Lead for an immediate role near the Huntington, WV area. This is for the nation's #1 recycler of any product, a company with unmatched job security and stable growth!

Overview:

You will lead the Infrastructure Team and Application Support Analyst Team – working closely with the IT Manager and local division leadership to meet the IT infrastructure and application needs of the facility and other locations. You will be a resource for the IT team, offering guidance on day-to-day activities and ensuring projects meet deadlines. You will play a key part in accelerating the AI and automation roadmap, including design and implementation of agentic systems to reduce manual effort and improve workflow efficiency. And you’ll partner with business stakeholders to translate operational challenges into scalable, AI-powered solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as a trusted partner with business operations and production processes
  • Provide mentorship to IT infrastructure and Application Support Analyst peers
  • Offer project oversight (manage deliverables, cross-functional collaboration with all business groups, strong financial awareness – including monitoring project costs and keeping the team on track with budget expectations)
  • Guide IT initiatives that support modernization, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
  • Administer Windows and Linux servers
  • Oversee the implementation/installation, maintenance/troubleshooting, and licensing of software/applications, as well as hardware maintenance agreements/contracts
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions and keep leadership informed about risks, progress, and resource needs
  • Manage virtual cloud platforms such as VMWare Environments, Virtual Private Cloud, and/or Azure Computing, including storage, network, full VMs, and container applications
  • Manage/support access control and camera system solutions
  • Administer Active Directory, Certificates, DNS, DHCP, File Shares, SMTP, IIS Entra ID O365, SharePoint
  • Lead backup, testing, and recovery (including updating and maintaining the disaster recovery plan)
  • Perform Project Management in an Agile framework (including overseeing contractor responsibilities and duties)
  • Perform SQL and Oracle database management
  • Assist with network and security administration
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades and improvements, and contribute to solution recommendations
  • Approach initiatives and software implementations with an enterprise-wide mindset, ensuring solutions align with broader business needs, standards, and longterm scalability
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work a rotational on-call IT support schedule to include evenings and weekends as assigned

Minimum requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and application support/management.
  • Technical knowledge of hardware, software and network infrastructure.
  • Prior experience with project management (including managing multiple projects simultaneously).
  • Professional demeanor with a high degree of flexibility, responsiveness, and self-direction.
  • Proven ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Supervisor/manager recommendation and ability to perform all essential functions of the job (with or without a reasonable accommodation).

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working in a large, complex organization with multiple divisions

Compensation and benefits:

TOTAL COMPENSATION = $140,000-$178,000, broken down as follows:
