Job description

Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Corporate Business Applications Manager to lead the support, delivery, and continuous improvement of our corporate and global business application environment. This role serves as the primary IT Business Partner for Corporate Applications, working closely with Finance, Operations, Sales, and other business leaders to translate business needs into practical technology solutions. The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis, project management, application ownership, and vendor-management skills to deliver reliable solutions and measurable business value.

The application portfolio includes Epicor ERP 10.2 , Azure Fabric and Power BI, Esker/OCR and process automation, Oracle EPM, Microsoft Dynamics CRM/Dynamics 365, EDI, Customer Portal, and other global applications and integrations.

The role would have a small number of FTEs to manage internally but we mainly utilize outside partners for projects and support model for our Corp applications.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Sales, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and identify opportunities for process, data, and application improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into practical technology solutions and maximize the capabilities of existing applications before recommending new platforms.
  • Promote appropriate global standardization while balancing legitimate regional business requirements.
  • Participate in application roadmaps, architecture reviews, technology planning, and executive presentations.
  • Collaborate with regional ERP teams and internal IT teams—including Development, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity—to ensure secure, integrated solutions and effective data flows.

Application & Project Management

  • Serve as the accountable technology lead for application implementations, upgrades, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead projects through requirements, solution design, vendor coordination, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, resources, and dependencies, with a strong focus on on-time delivery.
  • Oversee day-to-day application support, prioritizing incidents, requests, and enhancements across internal teams and external providers.
  • Serve as Product Owner, System Administrator, or application owner for assigned SaaS platforms.
  • Monitor application performance, availability, support trends, and business impact.

Customer-Facing Applications

  • This role will place special focus on customer-facing applications that are still early in their maturity.
  • Help with the system architecture and own the support model for customer-facing platforms, including Customer Portal, Dynamics CRM, EDI, B2B capabilities, and related order-management/quoting systems.
  • Ensure reliable integration between customer-facing applications and ERP, finance, supply chain, and other back-end systems.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer experience, system availability, data accuracy, security, access controls, and timely issue resolution.

Vendor & Service Management

  • Serve as the primary technical contact and the accountable owner for 3rd party support providers and implementation partners , given the organization's reliance on outside partners for most corporate applications.
  • Provide application KPIs, service metrics, project status, and vendor performance reporting to IT leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize outsourced services, resources, and costs.

Governance, Security & Controls

  • Ensure applications follow appropriate change management, access control, data management, audit, security, and disaster-recovery practices.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and other IT teams to address application risks and maintain enterprise standards.
  • Maintain appropriate application documentation, ownership, support procedures, and lifecycle plans.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business/MIS, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, project management, IT consulting, application management, or similar roles.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in a manufacturing or distribution environment, preferably across multiple sites or geographies.
  • Demonstrated experience in all three areas:
  • Business Analysis: Translating business needs and processes into effective technology solutions.
  • Project Management: Leading technology projects, coordinating internal and external resources, managing risks, and driving on-time delivery.
  • Application Ownership: Serving as a Product Owner, System Administrator, or accountable owner for enterprise/SaaS applications.
  • Experience with ERP, BI, CRM, financial, automation, or other enterprise business applications.
  • Hands-on experience with customer-facing applications and integrations, such as portals, B2B e-commerce, CRM/Dynamics 365, EDI, order management, or quoting systems.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS application management, system integrations, data flows, and application support.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and outsourced application support providers.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to clearly communicate technical issues, project status, risks, and recommendations.
  • Understanding of IT controls including change management, access management, data management, security, audit, and disaster recovery.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to approximately 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epicor ERP, particularly Epicor 10.2.
  • Manufacturing ERP experience across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Inventory, Production, or Order Management.
  • Experience with Azure Fabric/Power BI, Oracle EPM, Esker, Dynamics 365, OCR, EDI, or similar technologies.
  • Experience working in a global, distributed manufacturing organization.
  • Experience in a highly outsourced IT environment.
  • ITIL, Agile, Scrum, PMP, or similar experience/certification.
