Job description

This position helps develop and deploy world-class data analytics for the system antimicrobial stewardship program at UPMC, one of the nation's leading health systems. The Senior level Systems Analyst is a senior member of a system shared service teamcomprisedofhealthcare professionals contributing to UPMC'sstrategic initiatives, clinical excellence, and operational targets through data-driven insights. This position offers remote workoptions tofit individual needs and preferences. We prioritize a strongteamcollaborative culture.UPMCprovides ongoing training, maintenance, monitoring, and promotion of data applications and reports to ensure data is widely known, accessible, and used to its fullest potential.

In this role, you will lead data analytics and visualization projects for antimicrobial stewardship and develop departmental dashboards. Your work will support analysis, monitoring, investigation, and planning activities, and you will produce professional deliverables for an executive audience. You will also lead investigative activities and coordinate with technical resources across departments.

No scheduledevening,weekend,overnight, or holidaycoverage isrequired.

Department Goals:

  • Reporting analytics and data analysis to support antimicrobial stewardship initiatives

  • Ability to pull code andwritecustom reports (notablyPowerBI, Qlik dashboards)

  • Manage multiple projects on time and within budget.

  • Enhance culture through analytics.

  • Increase capabilities for full population testing.

  • Meet productivity goals and proactively seekadditionaltasks.

  • Lead special projects and build collaborative relationships.

  • Maintain expert-level advice on technical matters.

  • Monitor changes in Data Analytics and Healthcare industries.

Skills:

  • Serve as primary data support for management level leadership of the system antimicrobial stewardship team

  • Analyze and interpret data using statistical modeling software (e.g.R, Python, SAS) and apply statistical methods, analysis, and models (i.e.hypothesis testing, logistic and linear regression, correlation, parametric and non-parametric methods) to detect improvement opportunities.

  • Report/dashboard creation (Tableau, Qlik)

Technology Expertise:

  • Expert indata validation, analysis, and visualization techniques.

  • Proficient in programming languages (ACL, Python, R, SAS, SQL).

  • Understand software development techniques.

  • Distribute technical knowledge andidentifytraining needs.

  • Stay current withnew technologiesand IT systems.

  • Extract and combine data from various sources.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and collaborate with peers.

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years related work experience OR 2years of experienceand preferred certification orMaster'sdegree
