Job description

Job Title: Business Analyst - Advanced (9694)
Location: Columbia, SC 29201 (Onsite)
Work Type: Onsite (eligible for 2 days/week telework after 3 months & milestone completion)
Duration: 12 Months
Interview Process: 1 Round - Virtual
Candidate Location Requirement: Must be a South Carolina resident (No relocation)
Role Overview
The Business Analyst - Advanced will support application migration and modernization initiatives by acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. The role focuses on requirements gathering, process analysis, SDLC support, testing coordination, and ensuring migration readiness across enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Elicit, analyze, and document business rules, processes, and functional requirements.
  • Serve as liaison between business users, technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Support application migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather configuration artifacts and system requirements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation throughout the SDLC.
  • Assist with testing strategy, test execution, and user readiness activities.
  • Support training efforts before, during, and after implementation.
  • Analyze current and future state business processes to identify gaps and efficiencies.
  • Review and validate migration-related tickets, configurations, and system changes.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders on enhancement requests.
  • Provide support across multiple application projects as needed.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
    (Relevant experience may substitute for degree on a year-for-year basis)
  • 5+ years of experience working on Government IT projects as a Business Analyst or related role
  • 5+ years of experience eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business requirements and processes
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • 1+ year of experience working with SQL databases

Preferred Skills
  • IIBA certifications such as CBAP or CCBA
  • PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis) certification
  • 1+ year of experience using JIRA
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
