The Opportunity
SunStream Business Services, a leading managed IT service provider that supports Farm Credit lending institutions, is seeking a Business Analyst to support our Financial Technology (Fintech) offerings. Reporting to the Director of PMO, the Business Analyst develops requirement documentation to translate business needs into solutions that deliver organizational benefits. They work independently across multiple medium to large Agile features across the project lifecycle. This role has a strong backend focus, working with system integrations and file-based data movement across platforms. It involves critical thinking to ensure effective system impacts, active facilitation of Agile ceremonies and prioritization conversations, and building strong relationships between business partners and technology teams.
What You'll Be Doing
Business Analysis
  • Develops business analysis artifacts (user stories, use cases, business models, needs and features, etc.) to document "as-is" and "to-be" requirements in an understandable and presentable format.
  • Elicits, analyzes and validates the business needs of stakeholders, customers and end users
  • Interacts and drives technical teams to translate functional specifications into technology solutions
  • Validates the solution (people, process and technology) meets the business capability, product or system objectives
  • Identifies and communicates risks and issues to Product Owner and Scrum Master that may require changes to scope
  • Partners with the project manager to create a project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and project schedule
  • Supports project management activities including tracking execution progress, monitoring delivery timelines, and flagging risks to keep work on schedule.
  • Participates in System and User Acceptance Testing for confirmation that define requirements and business solutions have been delivered

Business Analysis Practice (Methodologies and Frameworks)
  • Facilitates Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Leads prioritization discussions with development teams, translating organizational priorities into actionable work sequencing.
  • Maintains compliance with company Agile standards and best practices.
  • Scales business requirements tools to the size and complexity of projects

What You'll Bring to the Table
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, finance, preferred or related field
  • 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Knowledge of Farm Credit systems and/or banking desired
  • Experience with system integrations and file-based data movement (e.g., SFTP, MoveIt, or similar file transfer/ETL processes) preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and requirements validation preferred
  • Proficiency in business analytics methodologies and frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills to identify and document needs and features, lead prioritization conversations, and produce detailed requirements
