COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

This is a hybrid position requiring an on-site presence at our corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, three to four days per week.
Scope:
Drive and lead initiatives to maximize opportunities as it relates to business processes, identifying needs, and developing strategies. Mentor and develop junior members of the data and analytics team on industry best practices and enhance quality of team deliverables. Create and review data collateral to be used for served and self-served data consumers. Partner with and influence developers, stakeholders, system architects and various subject matter experts to determine priorities. Operate as an expert-level individual contributor with minimal technical oversight on multiple products or subject matter areas, while understanding the relationships and impact within the broader system.
Essential Functions:
  • Collect and analyze data for potential business expansion. Identify specific business opportunities. Utilize established knowledge and external learnings or experience to bring in new insights, developments, and opportunities to the team.
  • Influence stakeholders to support business projects. Define projects and partner with other teams to produce better business outcomes.
  • Ensure optimization and validation initiatives are implemented, tracked and reviewed postproduction. Test business processes and recommend improvements. Review and provide feedback on technical deliverables from peer and junior analysts. Fix and research highly complex or difficult technical problems.
  • Visualize, design and prepare data in a framework that can be utilized by served and self-serving stakeholders with direction from senior members of the team.
  • Shape, explore and propose data for business analysis or stakeholder initiatives using core Business Intelligence (BI) tools. Understand which tools and techniques should be used based on the situation presented.
  • Create and present reports to executive team members and shareholders to support recommendations.
  • Utilize a variety of data analysis and organizational tools to uncover insights. Annotate impactors that lead to data anomalies. Identify internal and external drivers to changes in business metrics and process outcomes. Maintain integrity of the data catalog to ensure successful self-service.
  • Mentor all members of the team on driving change and outcomes with data. Provide feedback and guidance on deliverables. Maintain a presence in the broader data and analytics community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field.
  • 5 - 8 years' experience with hands-on data visualization design and development in large-scale and complex environments.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience with Tableau and Tableau Server.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with organizational data flow and its use in management decision-making.
