Job purpose

The Business Analyst provides business-operations and financial-analysis support to CDET by developing execution plans, financial tracking products, workflow improvements, and decision-quality data for leadership.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist the CDET Business Operations in the coordination and development of packages for training and conference events.
  • Assist the CDET Business Operations in the development of the annual phasing plan.
  • Develop graphs and charts depicting visual representations of planning versus actual spending monthly for each line of funding (3).
  • Track and report monthly progress in each financial category: Phasing, Authorization, Commitment, Obligation, Expense and Liquidation on a weekly basis to allow for on-call budget decisions to be made by the CDET Deputy Director and Business Operations Analyst.
  • Analyze Business Operations, recommend and develop solutions to automate workflows using M365 products.

Qualifications

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree and eight (8) additional years of experience, may be substituted if the professional lacks a Master's degree.

Education

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), Organizational Leadership, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.

Years of Relative Work Experience:

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible business analysis or program analysis experience.
  • Experience analyzing business processes and recommending operational improvements.

Clearance:

  • Minimum Tier 1 background investigation and Government-access eligibility are required; an active Secret clearance is required before supporting classified events or tasks.
