Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior.
  2. Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations.
  3. Assists students and other passengers loading and unloading from buses in both emergency and normal transportation.
  4. Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior.
  5. Conducts emergency evacuation drills.
  6. Drives school bus/s.
  7. Fuels assigned vehicle.
  8. Informs other school personnel, parents, etc. of events and/or practices.
  9. Performs pre and post trip inspections to ensure safety of the bus.
  10. Prepares documents and reports.
  11. Reports observations and/or incidents according to policies and procedures.
  12. Responds to inquiries from students, parents, other school personnel, etc.
  13. Supervises students and other passengers during transit.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  1. High School Diploma
  2. Knowledge of state and District transportation policy and procedures
  3. Knowledge of safety practices and emergency evacuation procedures as related to transportation.
  4. Ability to consistently lift 40 pounds.
  5. Ability to obtain Bus Driver's License and CDL
  6. Clearance of a pre-employment drug screening.
  7. Clearance of a pre-employment physical
  8. Clearance of Criminal Justice Fingerprint and a Background check.
  9. Ability to obtain CPR/First aid Certification.
  10. Ability to pass physical capacity test.
