Job Title: Bus Driver / Support 

 

Reports To:  School Principal AND  Director of Operations 

 


Position Goal:The Bus Driver / Support at Career Success Schools is crucial in ensuring safe transportation for students and maintaining the school facilities in optimal condition. This position involves operating school buses, conducting routine maintenance checks, and performing general maintenance tasks as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with school bus endorsement.

  • Proven experience as a bus driver or in a similar transportation role.

  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Demonstrated ability to operate school buses safely, with a strong record of adherence to traffic laws and school transportation policies.

  • Skilled in maintaining a safe and orderly environment for students during transit, with effective communication and behavior management skills.

  • Proficient in conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, basic maintenance tasks, and emergency procedures to ensure bus readiness and passenger safety.

Essential Job Functions:

 

Bus Driver Responsibilities:

 

  • Safely operate school buses on designated routes in compliance with all traffic regulations and school policies.

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during transport, adhering to established safety protocols.

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure buses are in good operating condition.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and perform essential maintenance such as refueling and fluid level checks.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding transportation schedules and any issues during transit.

  • other duties as assigned.

 

Support 

 

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing lightbulbs, HVAC filter replacements, and general cleaning of school facilities, including but not limited to cleaning bathrooms and common areas (both indoors and outdoors)

  • Conduct inspections to identify and address building maintenance issues promptly.

  • Assist with minor repairs to building systems and equipment as directed.

  • Assist with maintaining school facilities. 

  • Support special projects and event setups as needed by the school administration.
